J. A. Carroll is a retired U.S. Navy submariner, lifelong science-fiction fan, gamer, and storyteller whose work blends military structure, tactical tension, and character-driven speculative fiction.

The name Terowyn began as a Dungeons & Dragons character in the early 1990s and later became a long-running creative identity across RPGs, MMOs, and original worlds. With the LEXI series, Carroll brings that history forward into a military science-fiction universe shaped by command, loyalty, artificial intelligence, institutional intrigue, and the cost of making decisions when certainty is unavailable.
