The farthest orbit from Sol holds the largest planet in the system. Cryonix II is a behemoth under ice, and it turns the wrong way. Everything else in the system spins one direction. Cryonix II spins the other, slowly, and nobody has explained it.
Out past the Scatter and far past its sister, almost nothing reaches it. A single orbit takes longer than anyone alive will live.
The orbit is not quite circular, and where it runs closest to the Dust Wall it pulls material free and carries it along, knocking loose what was already there, old and new. The retrograde spin winds what stays back across itself, and from a distance the planet appears to have rings.

A crew came for the ice once, a private venture from the expansion years. The survey said the crust would open to standard cutting equipment, and it did, for a while, and then the shafts closed faster than they could be cut.
