Second orbit. The survey went out expecting the inner system to be worth something.
It found dust. Regolith deep enough to have rounded off every crater it fell into, a thin unbreathable atmosphere that does nothing except haze the view, and rock under all of it that is the same rock as everywhere else. Hot, and not usefully so.
The volatiles are thin, the metal is scattered, and a shovel would not improve anything at the surface. The team stayed nine days. The report ran to a page and a half.
