// Assessment Summary
A latch is purpose-built for boarding. Building one is simpler than converting a hull for the job, so S.C.A.R. builds them.

It closes on a target, grips the hull, and seals against it. The crew cuts their own way in, and most of the target's atmosphere stays where it is. It carries three to four crew with boarding weapons and cutting torches.
// Pattern
A latch is never found alone. One on scope means the rest of the raiding party is close.
// Source
Everything the UGA knows about latches comes from crews who survived an attempt.
